Hiya,

I’m Charlotte from Development and I love Halloween! I started decorating our office in September and understandably everyone thought I was a bit mad … I think it was triggered by another team having a countdown to Christmas on their whiteboard and all I could think is: ‘Nooooooo, I haven’t had a chance to celebrate Halloween yet!’

I understand a lot of people think its just about plastic decorations and sweets, but one of my close friends celebrates Halloween in its original form ‘Samhain’ and made me realise Halloween can be about lots more.

By this tradition the day is spent with close friends and family, eating, drinking, playing games and telling stories. I feel like that’s a thing a lot more people can get behind. There’s always a chance to make new traditions and I feel like this is a good one.

So, whatever you spend your Halloween doing make sure you do it, doing the things you love with the people you love. Whether it’s scaring your neighbours or eating with friends you will have a wholesome time, and if you don’t celebrate it, maybe its time to make a new tradition.

Trick or Treat!

We can see everyone’s been having a fang-tastic time. There’s been lots of spooky fun with Halloween themed food and games over the past week.

In other news just in, P3 teams have been on a winning streak!

P3 Gloucester

P3 Gloucestershire have won the NHS Safeguarding Award at the 2022 HSJ Patient Safety Awards as a member of the successful One Gloucestershire partnership! 😊

The award acknowledges the work of our hospital in-reach service. This service provides P3 Link Worker support alongside the NHS specialist nursing team for people experiencing homelessness. Together the team work to ensure people are discharged from hospital with dignity, into safe and comfortable accommodation.

Judges comments stated:

“This project was a clear winner with fantastic outcomes and impact. The presenters excellently evidenced the patient experience, improving patient quality and significant cost savings within health. They also showed excellent spread from a national perspective and demonstrated clear outcomes and a positive impact to reduce inequalities.”

Sadly, P3 Link Worker Amanda Page was unwell so she couldn’t make it to the celebrations, but P3 Head of Service Matt Gasside was able to send over these fab pictures of the award celebrations.

Tech For Good Impact Award

P3 Charity has been selected from over 600 not-for-profit organisations from around the world to receive a prestigious Zendesk Foundation Tech for Good Impact Award.

One of 21 recipients P3 will receive a grant of $US 5,000 and benefit from the donation of free Zendesk software.

Thanks to Alfreton based memory foam and bedding company, Alfrecell for their generous donation of single and double mattresses to P3 Alfreton. It was lovely to hear about, and very welcomed. What a difference it will make to the people we work alongside!
